Football Club Wallpapers — 18 Clubs

Club coverage is the unevenest part of the library, and it is worth knowing why before you go looking. The archive this site draws on was built around players rather than clubs: its club artwork was mostly fixture-specific, made for one match rather than for the badge, so what survives is a handful of files per club rather than a set.

That shows in the numbers below. A few clubs have several wallpapers, most have one or two, and plenty of well-known names are not here at all. A club appears on this list only once there is a real file behind it, which is why the list is shorter than you would expect from a football wallpaper site.

The newer work does not close the gap, and deliberately so. A recognisable crest brings the club that owns it and its trade marks with it, so the generated part of the library stays with grounds, kits and treatments instead of badges. If you want a specific club badge at 4K, this is the wrong library; the stadium and style collections are where the large modern files are.

In numbers: 4 clubs have 3 or more files, AC Milan (5), Chelsea (3), Arsenal (3) and Real Madrid (3), and 14 of the 18 have exactly one. The clubs with one or two files keep a page so the file can be found by name, but only the 4 deeper pages are offered to search engines.

15 of the 28 club files are 1024 by 768, the desktop size of the years they were made in, and 3 reach 1920 pixels on the long edge; the largest is 2564 across. That makes this the part of the library to browse for a particular club rather than for a particular screen, and the resolution on each card is the file's real size, never an enlargement.

The 28 club files come to 4.6 MB together, 43 KB at the lightest and 349 KB at the heaviest, and each is served exactly as stored. Every club page lists its own files the same way, with the size in pixels and in bytes on the card, so the choice between two files of one club is made on the page rather than after the download.
