Kaka Has Real Madrid Medical
AC Milan’s star midfielder Kaka is having a medical with Real Madrid in Brazil, as the player prepares to face Paraguay with his country on Wednesday. A world record fee of £60million has already been agreed with the Rossoneri, although Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi will try to persuade the star to stay.
The Brazil confederation has confirmed that the player has had a medical with Real staff. The 27 year old had previously been linked with Chelsea and Manchester City. Kaka is just a start in new president Florentino Perez’s plan to overhaul Real’s big rivals, European Champions Barcelona.
Perez is also believed to be keen on the capture of Bayern Munich’s French wing wizard Franck Ribery and World Player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo. Manchester United however has denied that the Portuguese star is for sale and look unlikely to sell one of their prize assets. Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer has called for the club to act quickly and has insisted that the situation won’t drag on all summer. Real have rivals for the stars signature with Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United all linked with a move for the mercurial Frenchman.
Real Madrid needs to strengthen their squad this summer if they are to challenge the dominance of Barcelona. Barca took the La Liga title, the Champions League and even the Copa Del Rey for a historic treble. Perez, who is in his second spell as president, is determined to bring more big names to Madrid, but he knows that only the signing of truly world-class players will help the side from the capital achieve greatness again.
