Barca and Madrid show interest for C. Fabregas
This week has seen further developments in the ongoing transfer rumor of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas being linked with a move back to Spain. Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two reportedly interested sides, and both may look to sign him this summer, or in the near future.
Cesc Fabregas is known to be one of the most creative players around, and at 21 boasts a fantastic amount of talent. Fabregas admitted that he spoke to Ramon Calderon on the phone, but refused to talk about signing for Madrid. The young Spanish player was a member of Spain’s winning Euro 2008 team, which will have raised Arsenal’s asking price further. The playmaker has a contract until 2014, and has recently been made club captain, with Wenger eager for him to stay at the Emirates for the long term.
Many believe Cesc would suit the tempo and pace the matches are played at in La Liga, and it would certainly be a big name signing that would draw massive crowds. However, he has been loyal to Arsenal thus far and we should only expect to see more of that loyalty in future transfer windows. As long as the North London club ambitions match with the ambitions of the Spanish midfielder, the two should keep progressing.
Despite Barcelona all ready having household names such as Iniesta and Xavi, it is thought they’re keen on the return of the ex-Catalan. Real Madrid are always interested in the best players in the world, and Cesc Fabregas is no different to their typical blockbuster signing ethos we have seen down the years at Madrid.
